The first para second line of Thirukural clearly mention that frist Bhagwan is AADI bhagwan. This is followed by jains.

      As heard from elders
“The majority of Bharat (named after 1st thirthankar – Sri Adinath’s Son) {today India-given by over rulers} was Following Jainism even after as the last 24 Thirthankar (Sri.Mahaveer), but things changed later…

The history of conversion of people started with many kings forcing their community(can be seen in painting of many temples where monks where killed), Invasion of Mughals, Portuguese and then british also forced and converted many people and turned many temples into their religious place to stay on this land for long period. Today Jainism is the minority.”

When I asked why did they convert to other religions

” he said as per basic logic there was no need for money or any thing. the only reason which could be is fear of killing and the want to live made them bow their heads to the changing rulers”

But we can start to dig more from history make everyone feel proud of our root culture and let them join it again.

  3. Sir,
    jaijinendra to all,
Very useful information has been provided on the website. I am of the view:-
    1) that the efforts in the organised manner by like minded jains be made to educate the jains living in northern states so as to encourage them to undertaked the yatras in southern states.
    2) This will provide an opportunity and will create atmosphere for the preservation of these historical monuments in the times to come.
    Thanks&Regards.
